NAT BIRCHALL IS BACK WITH A NEW ALBUM RECORDED LIVE IN MANCHESTER.Featuring the long-time quartet members: Adam Fairhall – piano, Michael Bardon – bass and Paul Hession – drums.The music was recorded at a livestream event at Low Four Studio, beautifully engineered by Brendan Williams who also mixed and mastered the album.The live session took place the day after the group recorded the Spiritual Progressions album, in the same studio space but in front of an audience. Two of the songs from that album, "Lokumbe" (titled for the great trumpeter aka Hannibal Marvin Peterson) and "Sun In The East", are featured here and make for interesting comparisons with the album versions. The other two tracks are "Kalaparusha Arha Difda" (named after the deeply spiritual tenor saxophonist) previously recorded on Nat’s "The Infinite" album, and a fiery version of "Song To The Divine Mother" from the "Invocations" album.The live ambience adds to the vibe of the day and the group are in stellar form as they explore the themes at length.
