The eagerly anticipated release from the Glasgow-born award-winning producer and DJ comes with a full-size booklet of lyrics & exclusive imagery selected by TAAHLIAH, as well as a fold out poster in full colour print. If you’ve caught her ecstatic DJ sets, heard her AIM award-winning debut EP Angelica, or spun her bootleg club edits, you know TAAHLIAH to be an artist not bound by genre borders. With her debut album, Gramarye, she continues her eclectic approach, interweaving pop ballad songwriting and club-ready anthems to delve into and represent her internal world. TAAHLIAH has sold out the institutional Southbank Centre for a one-off collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra, played European clubbing flagships such as Fabric, Razzmatazz, Dour Festival and popular music havens like Glastonbury Festival and Sziget. Her DJ sets have earned viral status online, and taken her around the globe with sold out shows in the USA, Australia, and South Korea. Beyond her DJ and producer career, TAAHLIAH is a notable personality – co-hosting her cult podcast The Dolls Discuss and featuring as a guest-host on BBC 6 Music. ‘Gramarye’ releases on cult label untitled (recs), who have partnered with TAAHLIAH since her very first single, ‘Brave’. Shaped in part by her experience collaborating with the London Contemporary Orchestra, the record is TAAHLIAH’s boldest statement so far. From the confident kick thump of ‘Boys’ to the sensitive confessional writing on ‘Holding On / Let Me Go’, this debut bares all sides of its creator. Written and recorded with a close-knit group of collaborators, such as naafi, Dev Hynes, Tsatsamis and Fred MacPherson, the record is a journey of vulnerability - one that gradually moves towards hope.
